- You can find medications section in the EMR on the left hand side. Click on “+” icon or simply click any where inside the medications component to expand the section.
- The medications component comes with some most common medications already displayed.
- You can search any medications by typing it in the search box.
- Once you select any medications , it will show up in the section with dosage associated. You may choose to edit the dosage of any medication by clicking on the edit icon beside the dosage.
- For example you have chosen “Azithral 500 tablet”. The parameters are as follows(However, they are not mandatory) –
- Dosage – 1 tablet
- Frequency – 2 times a day
- Instructions – after food
- Duration – 5 days
- Notes – clinical notes
- Refill information – (if applicable)
- You can add any medications to favorite or remove any medications from favorites using the favorite button beside the name of medications.
- There is a context menu option on the top right corner of the medication component which comes with 2 options
- Save current prescription as ready Rx
- Manage medication
- Save current prescription as ready Rx – To organize commonly prescribed drugs, save the current prescription as a ready Rx.
- Manage medication lets you edit the name of medications along with defining a few more information as follows
- Type of medication – generic or trade
- Dosage instructions
- Ingredients
- Other information
- While searching, if the name doesn’t exist, you can click on it to add a new medication.
